Im not talking about the silva thing cuz i get that theyre fighting eachother he wants to hype it up but i mean like with light heavyweight division he was saying they suck cuz machida was their champ and then hated on arlovski saying hes lost to nobodies but yet Chael cant finish a fight. Some of his trash talk is actually very smart, and makes sense. Other timeshis trash talk is just plaid stupid, insulting, or he is trying to act funny when he is not.

For example, he made comments about Ed Soares being a «barbarian» which I did not mind, because I don’t like Soares very much, but then Sonnen went on to discredit Anderson Silva’s black belt under the Nogueira brothers claiming that «one of them[the Nogueiras] is irrelevant, and the other[Nogueira] is a punching bag». And you are completely right, he talks trash about Arlovski and Machida, sounding smart and being articulate, and yet 14 of his 25 wins are by decision.
In an interview he said all of this was to build up the Anderson Silva fight and if he couldn’t beat silva he was going to move up to lighty heavyweight. And Chael is good but the problem with most wrestlers is there incapable of finishing fights. I think you might be misunderstanding Chael Sonnen a little bit.
If you’ve watch his interviews, he clearly has a playful side and likes to make humorous, yet nonsense statements. What’s amusing is how he blends his real opinions doesn’t think Anderson Silva is the best in the world with a outlandish comments Nog-issued blackbelt is a happy meal toy to get across his point, while also being a little ridiculous.
I would rather listen to Chael’s form of playful trashtalking than the boilerplate quotes like «he’s never fought a guy like me». I admire the guy. He can fight, but also make us laugh as he rips apart people that we put on pedestals. Chael is basically trolling the trolls.
You know it is working because people are talking about him now whereas they never did. He’s just a very opinionated guy and no one gave him the memo that you are supposed to keep your opinion’s to yourself in today’s sissified world where everyone makes a big deal out of every little thing. Most people don’t want your real opinion even when they ask for it they want you to give them some vanilla answer that is safe.
