The struggle is real, as you try to contact numerous agencies and you monney get rejected over and over. When it comes to the model agencies, usually, the model will also have to spend some cash for the photoshoot, at least when starting their career as a model. Some of them had friends who saw and liked the photos, and I started to get requests for paid assignments. This was never my intention, but now I’m beginning to consider doing this for a living. I’m in a career transition and I really enjoy photography. I bought a book called «The Business of Studio Photography» by Edward Lilley which kind of turned me off to the whole thing. I’m just wondering if this is consistent with the experience of professional portrait photographers on this forum. I’d love to hear from those of you who are making a living shooting portraits I’m also curious to know whether it’s possible to make it without shooting weddings. Due to a physical limitation I’m not able to be on my feet for hours at a time, so I don’t think I could handle wedding assignments.
